When to listen?

In your role as technical leader you have to provide solid knowledge. Direct your team based on many years of your experience. You have to form an opinion and to communicate it clearly. But you have to hold back your point of view sometimes - listen to your team members, let them think and speak uninfluenced. Steve Jobs said: “It doesn’t make sense to hire smart people and tell them what to do; we hire smart people so they can tell us what to do.”
